Gilberto's Art Class at Colinas del Poas. All the top Costa Rican Artists are activly involved in charity and community building.This activity raised money for schools hit by earthquakes, (remember the volcanoes?) and at the same time the students from those schools recieved training from each of the top Costa Rican Artists. The picture on the window in the upper left was one of the many auctioned at this fundraiser. The artists sat by the lake and painted. This a great time of the year you to pick up your paints and do the same.

These are tropical wood cups and dishes from Nicaragua. They are great decorations. They do not generally hold up to hot water but have many other uses. There are also wood boxes and dishes.

This is a nature panting by Saray Ramirez. The macaw and Toucan are populare subjects in Costa Rica. If you are in Costa Rica you can take bird tours where you will see these and many more birds.

Irma's shop is alway filled with a wide variety of art, crafts and gifts. In addition to a wide variety of tourist trinkets, she also stocks artwork from her family as well as local artists. You will even find work from the well known Costa Rican artist Gilberto Ramirez in this store. Gilberto is her son so he regularly contributes artwork. This is one of the few places you will find simplistic touristy works by Gilberto who sells most of his work in Gallaries and charity auctions.

Yes there are plenty of teeshirts. No need to pack lots of cloths when you visit. Just go native.
