Here are examples of necklaces made in Costa Rica. These necklaces were made by Meybol Anchia. The materials used include a wide variety of items from natural (shells, seeds), coconut wood and hemp. Also included are glass beads, plastic beads, acrylic beads as well as some metal shapes. One necklace shown here has a metal butterfly pendant. Many are these necklaces are macrame. Some use leather straps. Some have resin pendants made by Meybol. The natural items come from Costa Rica or from one of the neighboring Central American Countries. The other items such as plastic beads may have been imported, possibly from an Asian Country. Many of the jewelry makers buy the decorative items used in making the necklaces from local vendors. Some of these items, such as the shells, are gathered on the beaches.
